Another update on Australia

Thanks, again for all your concern and good thoughts. I've heard from Amelia and she is fine. She has also gotten in touch with her friend in Churchill. He is also fine. His home was spared. The fires came within 1.5 kilks of his house but he's okay.

Amelia told me that there are still five out of contol fires and one has spread to the area where she lived when I visited her.

Keep those good thoughts and prayers comming. Thanks!

That is a cryin shame as to what is happening down there. I am glad to hear that your friends are safe. My prayers are still with those fine folks down under.

Glad Amelia and her friend are okay, Nitebyrd.

Prayers and good thoughts still sent -- hope those five remaining fires are put out soon.

I have today posted the words of a fellow blogger from Victoria, it is certainly a relief to know that our friends are safe.

Fortunately it seems everyone in Australia (and other countries) are rallying to help, its wonderful to feel so united.

Quite often we lose sight of other peoples' problems, dismissing them as not our own. I am heartened that my fellow Aussies, and everyone I know are joining together to help (including everyone in blogland).

It truely is a special feeling to be part of such compassion and the feeling of unity is intense at such a terrible time for those that have lost their "world".

hello sweetie. Yeah i know how they feel/ i can remember the fires in Los Angeles. it spread so fast and then there was the fires from Santa Barbara. My trips up north on the I-5 was odd...ashes falling everywhere and huge grey black clouds of smokes filled half the sky.

I'm glad your friends are doing well. And I will continue to pray.

Ciao honey.
