Memorial Day

It is the
VETERAN,
 not the preacher,
who has given us freedom of religion.

It is
the VETERAN,
 not the reporter,
who has given us freedom of the press.

It is
the VETERAN,
 not the poet,
who has given us freedom of speech.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the campus organizer,
who has given us freedom to assemble.

It is
the VETERAN,
 not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is
the VETERAN,
 not the politician,
Who has given us the right to vote.

It is

the VETERAN who
salutes the Flag,

It is
the VETERAN
who serves
under the Flag,

Yes, excellent. I did forget as over in England it is just a bank holiday not memorial day. Now, in my house, it will be memorial day. xo

Thanks, everyone. My father fought in WWI, my BIL was in the Navy during Korea, my ex-FIL was at Pearl Harbor and many of my school friends were in Vietnam. Today and Veteran's Day is a day to remember all those that have given everything to keep us free. No matter what we think of the government, we need to honor the men and women of the military.
