It's Earth Day

Be kind to nature and the earth today and always.

I skipped school in 1970 to celebrate the very first Earth Day in New York City. That was 39 years ago (Fuck! I'm OLD!!!) and I've tried to keep the spirit of that day alive in my life since then.

15 blew out from under the bed:

Maybe its me...I just do not understand these types of holidays or memorial days.

Everyday, to me, is Earth Day. I try every day to conserve as much water as possible. I drive a Hybrid Car. I am wishing I had the money to invest in Solar power for my home.

I sometimes wonder if by celebrating Earth Day, one day a year, some of us think that we have permission to go trash it every other day.

Hey dust bunny babe: I didn't know Earth day went back that far.

Happy Earth Day sweetie. It was secretary's day too. Oh, let me correct that...Administrative Professional's day.

I tied blue berry muffins to her and chased her around her desk to celebrate.

I wish she's try harder to not get caught. :D

Ciao honey.

Flyingfox ~ I can't speak for everyone but I think we live in a very apathetic and/or forgetful society. Perhaps by making a very publicized statement, even once a year, more people will begin to be aware of our environment. At that first Earth Day, there were companies and groups talking about pollution, alternative energy sources and dwindling natural resources. Thirty-nine years later, I don't think we've come very far but each small step is an improvement. I hope.

Sage ~ That's right. Make me feel ready for the "Home" I'd still wear you out, boy! LOL

Sorrow ~ Thank you, love. I feel better. Of course if I drink enough wine I always forget how old I am anyway. Toes in mud! Isn't that the BEST feeling?

Annie ~ Looking at your travel pictures makes me even more aware of what needs to be protected and cherished.

Ron ~ Thanks, bro! I really like that picture, too.

Fire Byrd ~ I believe we are of the same age. Maybe someday, we can fire up a doobie and not care how old we are, just know we're sexy as hell! LOL

Rage ~ Right back atcha, babe!

Akelamalu ~ And to you, too!

Spiky ~ LOL! I got nothing for Admin. Prof. Day. You could have tied some muffins on me, I wouldn't have run! Yes, all us "hippies" were lovin' Mother Earth way back then! Some of us still are.

I never skipped school. Maybe that's where I went wrong in life? I think we should look after the world, it may not be a perfect place but we have no where else to go... Love thy world, love thy neighbour....but don't get caught!! Lol. AND you're not old, age is but a number, live for the moment, it doesn't come round twice.

Dare I admit I was around for the first one as well? ;-)

We only have the one planet. We better keep it safe.

Good sentiment, but its a way of life rather than just one day a year, to look after the planet.
