I've just gotten my copy of A Dance with Dragons. For once being a slacker has paid off. I only recently found out about this series so I didn't have to wait the 5+ years between volumes four and five.
Not only is this book an amazing read but it can be used as a very effective weapon. It's MASSIVE!
I'm going to put it down long enough to get a couple of actual posts out very soon. I want to introduce you to a young artist that makes me smile - no mean feat by any means! I also have something to say about a recent development in Blogland.
Back to The Fire and Ice series. If you haven't read them and are only watching the HBO series, shame on you! Get thee to Amazon or Barnes & Noble immediately!

10 blew out from under the bed:
Okay, I will get thee to Barnes and Noble today!
In fact, I was planning to head over there this afternoon, so I'll definately check it out!
Thanks for sharing review, Sis!

Ooooo...and I just notice; only 90 days until Halloween - yahoooo!
I haven't read any of those books (or seen the show on HBO) but it sure sounds like quite an interesting series! I love going to B & N so I'll check the books out sometime!
It's great when you get a new book isn't it? :)
You were spared the 5+ years in between book 4 and 5... but I'm not hopeful about "Winds of Winter" being finished in any short period of time... so you'll have to wait between 5 and 6...
...but welcome to the club! :)
I'm on my second read-through and just started (my first read of) ADWD. LOVE it.
Ms Inconspicuous said that same thing I was going to. The downside about that wait is this is not that last book, its made me worry about picking it up even though I know I'm going to have to reread them all anyway.
Shame on me indeed. I've been meaning to pick up these books ever since episode one (I was instantly hooked) and I still haven't one so.
I spent soooo much $ at B and N the other day, they may stay open!
UP
I hate waiting for books in series!
Developments in the blogosphere? Isn't that an oxymoron? hahaha
I don't watch the HBO series because I don't have cable but I'm very interested in the books. I have the first one but haven't started it yet since I have two others I need to finish first, haha. I always like stumbling on to a series late because then I'm not dying in suspense waiting for more to come out. :D
Ron ~ If you haven't read this series, definitely do so. It's just amazing!
CrystalChick ~ If you like fantasy - knights, kings, wars, dragons - you'll love these books.
Akelamalu ~ There is nothing like the feeling of holding a new book in your hands. Oh! the possibilities! I don't know if I'll feel the same about e-books!
Ms. Inconspicuous ~ Hi! Thanks for stopping by. The wait for 6 may be extensive but at least I can re-read 1-5! My current anxiety causing wait is for book 8 in The Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon.
W ~ Nice to see you here, too! These are books that are definitely worth re-reading. Not many like them. Y'all could pick up The Camulod Chronicles by Jack Whyte. Also an amazing series about what lead up to the birth of King Arthur.
Riff Dog ~ I don't have HBO so haven't seen the show. I'm usually disappointed in movies/shows that I see after I've read the books. You really should read them.
UP ~ I don't visit B&N very often because I tend to go overboard, too. Usually I'm at Amazon because it saves time and money. But I had to get this book NOW so out to B&N I went. Of course DWD wasn't the only thing I bought!
UBER ~ I'll be sort of vague in my post but people will know. I'll be shooting you an email.
Ashly Star ~ Nice to see you, hun! I'm very happy I had 4 books to read before this one was published and I only had a month to wait for it! Some times it pays not to be one of the cool kids!
